"description": "THE TEAM BEHIND THE SPARKLEEight people. One idea. Three conversations. And a whole lot of sparkle that nobody saw coming.MiriamMs Great Britain Surrey Finalists 2026, The Storyteller Whose Sparkle Is Utterly, Joyfully Impossible to ResistEight weeks into her Miss GB Surrey journey, Miriam decided to use the platform for the purpose she has in her heart and stands for, the wellbeing of actors and creatives. She had three conversations. She told a story. And before anyone quite knew what had happened, they were in it, fully, joyfully, irreversibly part of something bigger than any of them expected.Miriam is an actress, Ms GB Surrey Finalist, mindset and emotional resilience mentor, MHFAider and founder ofAnchored Actor, one of the top 10% of podcasts globally. Having lived inside both the creative and corporate worlds, as an actress, HR operations professional in tech and emotional resilience mentor, she has developed a profound understanding of the pressures, uncertainty and loneliness that so many actors and creatives carry quietly, often alone.A dedicated artist who uses creativity for good, Miriam premiered an original piano composition at Eton Parish Church, helping raise over £1,500 for the British Red Cross Ukraine Appeal. In 2022 she served as President of JCI London, championing collaboration, personal development and community impact. She believes success should never come at the cost of wellbeing. And she will make you believe it too, before you've even noticed she started.Esther-Miss Great Britain Surrey Finalists 2026, Accepted a Lift. Somehow Ended Up Co-Hosting an Event. Still Writing About It.It started with a lift to a Miss GB catwalk session on 19th April. By 4th May, Esther had said yes to co-organising a charity fundraiser evening, and had somehow also become co-host, Q&A panellist, school and university outreach lead, award presenter and raffle energy booster. She is still not entirely sure how it happened — but then, the best stories rarely announce themselves.Esther is a published writer, aspiring actress, Miss GB Surrey Finalist and student of English and Creative Writing at Royal Holloway, University of London. She runs a Substack on women's rights, serves as President of the Writing Society, and previously led the Feminism Society — where she raised funds for women's charities and created a safe, supportive space for women on campus. She has volunteered with Cancer Research UK and is passionate about empowering women and young girls to embrace their worth and individuality because she believes, deeply and without reservation, that true beauty comes from within. As a writer and aspiring actress, Esther understands the vulnerability of putting yourself, and your art, into the world. Actors' wellbeing is personal to her. And on 20th June, she will be on that stage, in that room, championing every single person in it.The sparkle got her. It gets everyone eventually.Inga - One Question for Marketing Advice. Stayed for the Story. Twenty Years of Magic and Now It's Showtime.Miriam asked Inga one question about raffles and auctions. Just one. What followed was a full social media campaign, a complete design system, a school and university outreach strategy and a starring role as Q&A host on the night. With over 20 years of experience delivering everything from large festivals and weddings to fundraising events, Inga has always been passionate about connecting people and creating meaningful experiences. She has an equally strong love for marketing and graphic design combining creativity and strategy to engage audiences and tell compelling stories. She also has a very good eye for when a raffle needs more energy. Spoiler: it always needs more energy.Cagri - One Tech Question. Never Left. Brought the Bot Guards, the Upgrades and a Server Nobody Knew They Needed.Miriam asked Cagri one innocent question about fundraiser tech. One question. What followed was a full website build, a Zeffy platform setup, a server migration and a starring role in the greatest fundraiser story ever told. Cagri is an AI architect, founder and published researcher with over 3,400 citations — who builds intelligent systems for major global companies and cares deeply about making AI that actually works, not just on paper. He is proud to be part of this team. He also, quietly and brilliantly, keeps the bots away. The sparkle got him too. It always does.Aiga - The Woman Who Makes Rooms Feel Like Home — And People Feel Like They BelongAiga is a finance professional with over 10 years of local government experience, a Youth Leader, Senior Leadership Team member and Head of Decor at her church with a passion for community impact and service. She is also the kind of warm, welcoming presence that makes every single person who walks through a door feel immediately at home. She once created life-size flowers for a Women's Conference that stopped people in their tracks. She brings that same extraordinary eye for detail, beauty and belonging to this evening. And then — because the sparkle is truly contagious, she told her husband.Ade -Programme Director. Transformation Leader. Community Servant. And the Man Who Runs Something Far More Important Tonight — On Time, On Tech and On Safe Ground.Aiga came home glowing with the story. Ade listened. And then, with the quiet clarity of a man who has led multi-million pound digital, cloud, ERP and AI transformation programmes across the UK, Europe and Africa — he said yes. Ade is a Programme Director, transformation leader, Youth Leader and Senior Leadership Team member at his church, passionate about leadership, mentorship and community impact through charity and service. On the night he will be keeping the whole evening on schedule, looking after the tech and making sure nobody gets past him without a smile. The sparkle got him via Aiga. Best route in.Karla - Secret Marketing WeaponKarla The Quietly Brilliant One Nobody Sees Coming. Some people arrive loudly. Karla arrives and things just… get better. That's all we'll say.Azem Alptekin The Lens That Captures the Moments You Don't Want to ForgetLondon-based photographer, visual creative and dancer whose work spans cinematic cityscapes, travel imagery and atmospheric portraiture. Azem has a gift for finding the extraordinary in the ordinary — and on 20th June, he will be capturing the moments you will want to remember forever. (TBC — but the sparkle is calling.)John Gould -Netflix Voice Artist. Acting Coach. Founder of The Actor's Cafe. Workshop Headliner. The Man Who Suggested the Venue — The Rest Is History.John was one of the very first people Miriam called. He said yes. And then, almost as if the universe had been quietly planning this all along — he suggested the venue. A place he knows well. A place where his own mentor Rob, now Mayor of Woking, once ran acting classes. The Gallery at Christ Church Woking. A home with history. A home that was waiting. John is an actor, Netflix voice artist, founder of the Spotlight-listed Actor's Cafe and the headliner of tonight's interactive workshop. He has trained over 1,000 students since 2015. And tonight, he brings it all home. Literally.Shane + The Gallery, Christ Church Woking The Keeper of The Gallery — Who Opened the Door and Let the Magic InEvery story needs a home. And this one found the most perfect one imaginable. Shane and the team at Christ Church Woking opened the doors of The Gallery, a beautiful, intimate space in the heart of Woking, just 20 minutes from London Waterloo, and made this evening possible. The connection runs deeper than a venue booking. This is where the story comes full circle."
